The Florida Mosquito Control Association will hold its annual meeting on November 4th-7th, 2024 at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, FL.  More information will be posted in the FMCA WWW page (https://www.yourfmca.org/events/2024-fmca-annual-meeting/) shortly.

The FMCA invites all persons interested in mosquito and vector control to submit an oral presentation or poster for the annual meeting.  This includes researchers, educators, vector control professionals, industry representatives, and students.  Deadline for submission is October 1, 2024.

Oral Presentations

Presentations will be 15 minutes in duration, and we encourage presenters to leave a few minutes open for questions at the end.  To submit a presentation please send the title, the full name of the presenter, and the names of all co-authors and their affiliations to jrey@ufl.edu. If you are submitting a presentation as part of the student competition, please see the instructions below.

Posters

Posters will be displayed in the exhibitor room.  The maximum poster board surface area is 24 inches (61 cm) high and 36 inches (91 cm) wide. Your poster does not need to fill the entire area available but cannot be larger than the surface area provided.  Presenters must furnish their own tacks or push pins (Velcro may not be used).  Please try to have your posters in place by 5 pm Monday, November 4th.  Posters should be removed by 5 pm on Wednesday, November 6th. To submit a poster, please send the title, the full name of the presenter, and the names of all co-authors and their affiliations by the October 1, 2024 deadline to: eva.buckner@ufl.edu. If you are submitting a poster as part of the student competition, please indicate this in your email.

Student Poster Competition

This year we will hold our first annual student poster competition. While anyone can present a poster during the poster session, only undergraduate and graduate students (and those up 12 months post-graduation) will be eligible to compete within the student poster competition. Monetary prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners. Please check the FMCA web page for details.
